Well we are almost halfway through this Holiday adventure, and I don’t know about you, but I’m sure enjoying myself.
Yesterday we went to Target and per usual checked out the clearance backing rack…good idea. Steven picked up a package of Pumpkin Spice Chips…SCORE! I had looked for them in October with no luck, and now they were on sale! I definitely considered myself one lucky lady.
I went right home and proceeded to bake these super tasty bars.
Think blondies, but amped up!
These pumpkin spice chips are SO delicious and the bars would make a great breakfast, snack, or dessert.
Hey Friends! I hope all enjoyed 5/10/2015, whether it was to celebrate Mother’s Day, the beautiful weather, good news, or simply because hey, you’re heart’s still beating and you have awesome friends who love the shit out of you.
I spent the day baking, slinging beers, and pouring growlers…and I LOVED it.
Yo! How’s you’re week going thus far? Yeah, I know it’s only Monday night, but let’s be real, sometimes shit’s already hitting the MF fan and you need a lil respite. Yeah. Truth. I know I needed a lil baking respite tonight. AND, I got it via needing to post here and via needing to bring in 2 dozen Christmas cookies to work tomorrow.
So, here we are, at my second go around on Christmas deliciousness. I do hope these are recipes you either already love, or, after making for the first time, grow to love.
Some of these treats are goodies I have grown up with, and others are ones I have recently been acquainted with. Either way, all of these treats are amongst my favorites!
I promise I have not died, run away, or just plain out forgotten about this blog. It is still the love of my life, and I am totes getting back into the swing of things.
I got a new job, and that fact has proven to really throw my life into a whirl (not that I’m attempting to make excuses or anything). I really think I just needed a small break of me working, coming home, and doing nothing. Oh, and this time change thing…throwing my photographing needs out the window and spitting on it.
Yes, I realize the name of this dessert seems quite boring and lacking of pizzazz, but if we are truly real and honest with each other (which we are), this shit is SO not boring and SO delicious.
Honestly. For reals.
I had a quite sad looking banana glaring at me on my counter and a cookout to attend in an hour, and I had just gotten home from work. I looked at what we were bringing, saw the lack of dessert, and immediately gave that glaring banana a bro nod (you know, the type of nod you give someone that means Hey without actually saying Hey…it makes perfect sense to me).
We all have them. Sometimes people are really good at hiding their deeper layers, while others, all of their layers are superficial. However we decide to portray them is our own decision, and is unique to every one of us individually. Sometimes these layers are well defined and lay perfectly on top of each other, while other times they are more of a collage of happenings that rather blend ever continuously together.
I realize I bake a lot with peanut butter and chocolate…
Deal with it.
This delicious combo tends to fill my thoughts…always…which would explain its extensive appearance here on this blog.
We all (well, most of us) grew up sneaking Rice Krispie treats from the freshly made pan. You couldn’t make us eat a bowl of Rice krispies (unless it was doused in sugar) but cover those babies in butter and marshmallows…DONE! I’ll take 5 please.
This nostalgic thought got me to thinking that perhaps there was a different cereal we could use in place of the ever-loved Rice Krispies, though it would have to be another childhood staple. One that would taste delicious covered in marshmallows and butter (though let’s be honest…what wouldn’t?!) and then I immediately thought S’MORES!
I’m sure everyone has their favorite holiday, and for most it is most likely Christmas…or their birthday. Lame .
I am one that much enjoys receiving (or buying) large buckets full of candy, and then sorting it out and eating it until I feel sick (in that awesome kind of way that only a shit ton of candy can create). This is why Halloween is my favorite holiday. Hands down.
